Join humanistic counsellor and ecotherapist Oliver Bettany for a day of deep human and nature connection on the land at Sacred Earth. Working alone and together in a small, intimate group, we will explore what it means to embrace our ecological consciousness and ask ourselves the question: “What does it mean to be a human living in harmony with the more than human world?”
Overview
We will begin at 10am in a close circle around a fire in our woodland area – a space to meet one another, check in and share needs and intentions for the day before stretching out to begin exploring the woods and the land around us. Upon your return to the group circle Ollie will facilitate a safe space to reflect and share exercises aimed to deepen your understanding of yourself and the more than human world you are in a profound and intense symbiotic relationship with. As the day progresses you will be invited to explore further and deeper, both inwardly and outwardly, and then finally we will return to the fireside as twilight approaches to share stories about significant and meaningful experiences from the day.
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is suitable for any adult with an interest in self and a curiosity about both human and more than human otherness. Whether you’re taking your first steps to reclaim your connection with nature or have a more established practice, you will find something valuable in this workshop.
Practical information
Please bring warm clothing and practical footwear. If it’s raining we may decide to base ourselves in the yurt but we will still be taking regular forays outdoors so bring a raincoat too if needed! Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day but lunch will not be provided. Please bring a bottle for drinking water, snacks and something to share for lunch.
Free parking is available at the Hillside Drive car park in Horam. It is a pleasant twenty minute walk along the Cuckoo Trail from Horam to the site. The walk offers a perfect way to begin decompressing before you arrive. Please contact the workshop organiser (details below) if you have access needs which require you to park closer.
