The Sun and Moon festival is a family well-being festival, with around 300 workshops, classes and activities for both adults and children delivered over the 6 days of the festival.
It’s a small festival of 3-400 people - more like a big family than a massive festival. We eat together, we learn together, we grow together and we enjoy this precious time together.
Based in the fabulous Herstmonceux Castle and it’s 500 acres of grounds, it’s different to most festivals, because there are actual buildings (including a castle!) here, as well as lots and lots of stunning natural spaces. Yes, there’s camping, but there are also bedrooms, indoor showers, toilets, and importantly, workshop rooms in the castle. These rooms convert into dance studios, yoga and Pilates studios, and other rooms for running the huge number of workshops going on over the week. You'll find everything from Indian head massage classes to Tai Chi, and from yoga and meditation to dancing 5 rhythms.
Of course there are hundreds of things for younger people to do too - from singing to football, and from willow weaving to circus skills - the smaller people among us are certainly well entertained. Which leaves the bigger people free to enjoy their time too.
In the evening there's live music and entertainment, and a chance to just socialise and relax. Sun and Moon does not have a no-alcohol policy, but most people will be heading to bed before midnight, so we do ask you to keep noise to a minimum if you are staying up later than that.
