Qigong (pronounced 'chee kung') is the ancient healthcare practice originating in China. These regular workshops have been exploring the Shibashi Qigong routines.
The Shibashi Qigong forms contain elements of Yang style Tai Chi as well as traditional Qigong exercises. The movements are flowing and relaxing, gently stretching and strengthening the body while opening up the energy channels (meridians) and increasing mobility of the joints. The health benefits of regular practice are tremendous.
In the June workshop Mark will be revising/reteaching the first half of Shibashi 2 as well as teaching a new form, called Turning The Moon. This is a very meditative Qigong form which focuses on feeling and working with Qi (energy) between the hands and increasing the energy flow throughout the body. It is a very powerful exercise to perform.
The workshop is suitable for all levels, regardless of whether you have tried Qigong previously.
The exercises can be adapted to be performed seated or standing.
